She leaned into him, encouraging him, enjoying the soft tentativeness of his touch on her arm. “Henry,” she whispered into his mouth, playing her tongue against his, then left off as he grew bolder and deepened his kiss.
He broke their embrace and pulled away, but only after lingering another long moment. “Aye?” he asked, looking as though he expected to be scolded for taking liberties.
Beth reached up and pulled him back toward her, twining her fingers behind his neck and through his soft curls. “I do not find you ungentlemanly.” She rested one hand lightly on his thigh and delighted at the excited shudder that coursed through him. She had nearly forgotten how incredible it felt to be the first person to touch someone that way. “Kiss me again,” she said, slipping her hand further up his thigh.
Henry did not disappoint. Returning her embrace, he quickly tired of leaning to meet her and pulled her from her chair onto his lap, where he resumed the business at hand. Beth couldn’t remember the last time someone had been so excited to be with her. She could feel him, even through her heavy skirts, hard as iron. And for her! It made her want to laugh and cry and fuck his brains out.
“God’s teeth, you are beautiful,” he said between kisses. “I wanted you the first I saw you.”
“Really?” Beth asked, pausing. “But you thought I was a spy.”
“A lovely spy,” he countered breathlessly.
